Job Interview Nails!

Hi friends!
Tonight I'm prepping for a job interview I have tomorrow and of course I had to make sure my nails are up to par. I couldn't decide between a chic nude polish or a classic french manicure. I used to give myself a french manicure all the time when I worked at my old salon, but I've been out of practice so I wasn't quite sure how it would turn out. Luckily, I seemed to jump right back into my groove and didn't even have to remove polish from a single nail! I love french manicures because they give a sophisticated, polished and put together finish on anyone's look. I think a french mani is perfect for a job interview because it will give the impression that you take care of your nails and it is just the right color combo for a professional environment. Not to mention it will match with anything you wear! It's best not to go with super obnoxious or trendy colors because you don't want to be taking away the focus from your skills and abilities to best suit the job you are interviewing for and put it on your fingernails. I'm interviewing for a job in the cosmetics industry. Since this is my profession, I've had quite a few jobs like this and have gone through similar interviewing processes, so I kind of already know what to expect. My job usually involves using my hands a lot, so I like for them to look chic at all times. So if you are interviewing for a job in the near future, I hope you remember this little tip!

Below I'm sharing some of my Instagram pictures from my mani-sesh tonight!
I always do my nails on the bathroom floor. I'm not sure why, but I feel like I do a way better job on my nails down there. Haha! Where's your favorite place to do your nails??

Neutral Eyes With a Pop of Color!

Hello, my beautiful friends!
I've gotten so many compliments on and questions about this eye look I've been wearing so I decided to share! I'm not a daring person when it comes to color on the eyes. I prefer very natural or neutral tones; I love browns and golds, they're probably my top picks for eyeshadows. But just because I'm not into wearing a lot of color on my lids doesn't mean I don't love bright colored eyeshadows. My favorite way to pull these colors off is by applying them to the bottom lash line. I like to pair them with a white or peach toned eyeliner to amp up the color pay off. Dipping your brush in a little water to make the shadows wet also increases the pigmentation of the shadows and the staying power. This makes it look more like an eyeliner rather than an eyeshadow.
Another great way to wear them is on the top lash line as a colored liquid liner. Just follow the same steps and apply to the top lash line as your favorite winged liner and go a little more neutral on the bottom lash line. This will really make the color pop!
For my skin tone, I love pairing these looks with peach tone shadows to match my complexion and a little bit of pearl colored eyeshadow to highlight the inner corners and tear duct of my eyes.
What do you think of this look?
If you're afraid of color, try this out and let me know how it turned out!

Sally Hansen Magnetic Polish

Today's polish is Sally Hansen's Magnetic Polish in Ionic Indigo!
I received this full size polish in my Summer Beauty VoxBox from Ifluenster.com
It's surprisingly super easy to do and I love the fact that each nail isn't exactly the same as the other. For me, this is a more edgy look and not something I would wear on a regular basis, I'm actually loving it so far!
What do you guys think? Would you wear this polish? Have any of you tried these polishes before? If so, what other colors do you recommend?

Happy Sunday!

Jessica

OOTD-The Perfect Summer Dress!

Just wanted to share the dress I wore today. I'm IN LOVE with wearing dresses this summer. It's just too hot for all the fuss of separates and dresses are so comfortable but yet they are a complete outfit in one! I'm wearing this lilac, cotton dress that I picked up from Aeropostale on sale for just 10 dollars! I rarely ever buy anything from Aeropostale, but they were having a sale and I saw a bunch of cute dresses in the window so I decided to stop in and I'm so glad I did. This is probably one of my favorite purchases just because the color is so unique. I think it really compliments my dark features and I love how it can be paired with almost anything. The dress came with a belt that was the same material and color as the dress, but I decided to pair it with a brown leather belt and some strappy brown leather sandals. I also love throwing on a denim jacket to pull the outfit together a little bit more, but today it was just too hot for the jacket. This dress would be great for wearing to the beach over a bathing suit as a cover up as well. It's versatile because the straps can be removed so it can be worn as a strapless dress or tank top style. I'm on the hunt for many more dresses like this for the summer! Where's your favorite place to buy sun dresses?

Independence Day Outfits

4th of July celebrations are just a few days away and if you're like me, the holiday just somehow managed to sneak up on you and you have absolutely nothing to wear for your Independence Day plans. I'm here to help make planning your 4th of July outfit a tad bit easier.
Outfit #1

This is for you girls who love the laid back, nautical look. This outfit is what I call "patriotic with a twist." A pair of denim shorts should be a staple in your summer wardrobe. If your plans include watching fireworks on the night of the 4th, the weather can be a little cooler after sunset, so tossing on this nautical inspired sweatshirt with a pair of jean shorts and navy blue TOMS is the perfect choice for keeping warm and staying casual, but cute. This is a great way to dress patriotic without wearing too much red, white and blue. Keep your makeup pretty simple, but amplify your look with a bold red lip to tie everything together.

Outfit #2
Not everyone is a fan of dressing head to toe in the patriotic colors of red, white, and blue on Independence Day. If this sounds more like you, then perhaps this outfit will catch your eye.
Coral is a hot trend for summer, as well as colored denim. Here you'll see bright coral shorts paired with a soft, lace tank and coral accented accessories and shoes. This outfit may be less patriotic, but it definitely keeps up with the latest summer trends. It's also great for any occasion this summer such as summer BBQ's, parties by the pool, and a day of shopping!

Outfit #3
Maybe you're planning to dress up a little bit more, but still stay comfortable in the summer heat. Maxi dresses and maxi skirts are perfect for this style.

Here we have a chevron striped, navy blue maxi skirt paired with a simple white tank. But what really makes this outfit is the accessories. Pairing this simple tank and skirt with a cute, white handbag and a pair of studded or strappy sandals really makes this look stand out. If I were wearing, I would replace the braided bracelet for more dainty bracelets to pair with the silver watch for my daily dose of arm candy. :)

Outfit #4
Okay this is something I'd probably end up wearing. This look is versatile for any occasion you're attending on the 4th and it goes along perfectly with the patriotic trend without going overboard.

This outfit is so simple, yet so put together. I love the color of this capri blue tank with the high-low hemline paired with scalloped, white shorts. Choosing two pieces with details like this can make your outfit look more put together than if you were to pair a simple blue tank and white shorts. The accessories are perfect in my opinion. What do you think?
How about pairing this outfit with some red, white and blue nails?
A polkadot twist on red white and blue stars and stripes.
Get patriotic with your nails!

Hope some of these ideas helped if you're in a pickle planning your outfit this 4th of July! What are you planning to wear to celebrate our countries Independence Day?

Happy 4th of July!

XoXo,
Jessica
